Barbara Ristine writes historical, speculative, and contemporary fiction. Her passion is historical fiction because it allows her to explore and interpret the past for modern readers.
Besides her short fiction, Barbara has written THE FACE PAINTER, a historical novel set during the First World War, inspired by the artists working in the Tin Noses Shop who created prosthetic masks for disfigured soldiers. THE FACE PAINTER Coming in Fall 2027.

Block 16 Blues, about Prohibition, the Boulder Dam, and a shady lady in 1931 Las Vegas, appears in Kings River Life Magazine.
The Tearoom, about a secretive widow in 1880 boom town Virginia City, Nevada, appears in the historical anthology FEISTY DEEDS II.
Her fiction has appeared in many fine journals.
